Vivian Lowery Derryck is a distinguished leader in international development with a career spanning academia, government service, and non-profit leadership.

She is a graduate of Chatham College in Pennsylvania and earned a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University. She went on to become an inaugural fellow at Harvard University's Advanced Leadership Initiative.

While working for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), she served as the Assistant Administrator for Africa during the Clinton administration. In this role, she helped shape U.S. development policy toward African nations and oversaw numerous initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development, democracy, and economic growth across the continent.

Vivian has been particularly known for her advocacy for women's leadership in Africa and her work on democracy promotion and governance issues. She has served on numerous boards and advisory councils related to international development and Africa policy.

Throughout her career, she has been recognized as an important voice on U.S.-Africa relations and international development policy, bringing decades of expertise to discussions about effective development assistance and foreign policy.
